These are our site rules. Please read through this list. If you break a rule, one of the Staff will send you a warning message. Ignoring warning messages, breaking an important rule or persisting in rule-breaking can result in the termination of your account. If you broke a minor rule, you don't have to worry about it. Just be a little more careful in the future. Thank you!

&& 01 LISTEN TO STAFF

Please don't disregard the Staff. We're working to keep the site running and to make sure that T&T is an organized and pleasant venue for role-playing. We can't do our job if members aren't cooperating. Thank you.

&& 02 BE RESPECTFUL

Please treat others with courtesy. No name calling. No unwanted criticism of someone else's writing. It's difficult, but if someone is being rude to you, don't respond in kind.

&& 03 NO IDENTITY THEFT

You wouldn't want someone to do it to you. Never steal ANYONE'S identity. We will report you. Identity theft will result in the termination of your account.

&& 04 DON'T CAUSE DRAMA

No one wants to deal with a fight between site members or with an emotional situation that a member created. If you can't get along with another site member, then don't chat with them. Ignore them. Or, if they get to be too obnoxious or rude, ask a Staff member for help with the situation. Just don't create negative experiences for other members. Also, please don't date on-site. Thank you!

&& 05 BELOW PG-13

There's no age limit for membership: please, don't write about a situation or action in a relationship that someone under 16 couldn't read about. This means nothing more than kissing! And Students are completely forbidden to become pregnant. If you ask to have a pregnancy plot the answer will always be no. There will also be no sexual relations. You can date, but even older students are not allowed to make love.

&& 06 KEEP SWEARING TO MINIMUM

Sometimes, swearing shows us what kind of a person your character is. If your character swears, keep it light and infrequent. The same goes with OOC swearing: remember that younger people can create accounts, so don't use any strong language in OOC posts, PMs or in chat-rooms.

&& 07 NO SPAMMING

Spamming in the c-box would be sending four or five short, random, meaningless messages in a row. It takes up space.

&& 08 CLASS LIMITS

When it comes to Not and Eat characters we are not going to put on limits. I mean seriously? There isn't much you can do in the overall plot and they can't go on missions. So we are going to allow the ability to make NOT characters and if you can find a way to incorporate them into the main site plot please let the head staff know. But otherwise, feel free to make EAT characters, Professors and Other characters openly.

&& 01 NO GOD-MODING

You can only control your own character's actions. Don't write dialogue for someone else's character. Don't move someone else's character. Don't explain how someone else's character feels. Never kill another person's character or put someone's character in an inescapable situation without talking to the person that character belongs to AND a staff member. The staff may have decided that the character is important to the plot. Also, if you want to write the death of one of your characters or decide you can't play a character anymore, contact the staff. We'll set you up with an adoption thread.

&& 02 BE REALISTIC

This is a fantasy world, but there are still some characters and stories that are more believable than others. For example, if your character is a dark and brooding person because a string of terrible and tragic accidents robbed him of everyone who was ever close to him, you might want to re-write his story. We're not saying that terrible things don't happen: just that a situation like this might require too much suspension of disbelief. Just avoid situations and character responses that don't make sense.

&& 03 CHARACTER SKILLS

Take your characters' year, history, and natural aptitudes into account when you decide what their abilities are. For example, a NOT student wouldn't be able to fight at the same level or have the same knowledge as an EAT student. If, however, your character has unusual abilities in a particular field, it would make sense for him to perform beyond the level of his peers. Whatever the case may be, please don't solely create characters with unusual abilities. We know it's fun (we have a few) but it's more realistic and interesting to have more normal, average students as well.

&& 04 FOUR CHARACTERS MAX

You can create a maximum of Four characters. This character limit might change later on, but for now each member can create four characters.

&& 05 NO PERFECT CHARACTERS

Perfect (or near-perfect) characters don't develop, usually win, and take opportunities for victory and interesting interactions away from other role-players. Every character has weaknesses and flaws. Every student will meet someone who is better than them at some important skill, whether it's a technical skill or something like social skills. The story will be more interesting if you let your character fail from time to time.

&& 06 NO ONE-LINE RP POSTS

Please post at least two paragraphs. Your reply should be about as long as the post you're replying to or longer. We really want this to be a site where people can share their writing and enjoy other people's writing styles, imagination, and skills. Three paragraph posts (at least!) are encouraged. But no mini-novels, please!

&& 07 DUELING

Fights will be turn-based. Whoever began the thread will make the first attack. The other role-player will be able to make a defensive move, then attack. The duel will continue in this way (defensive move, attack, next person's turn) until a character wins or they come to a draw.

Please be reasonable with your character's reaction times and responses during a duel, and remember: no-one's invincible. Even the best can lose a duel or make a bad decision mid-fight. If two Role-players can't decide who wins, an Administrator or Staff member will moderate, with a brief explanation of their final decision. If the moderators' decision is appealed, we'll determine the winner RANDOMLY.

&& 08 WRITING

Write in third-person, closed-style when you role-play. Please don't use texting abbreviations like LOL or TTYL in an RP thread. If you want to use them in OOC posts or in the chat box, that's no problem. If you want to have notes in your IC posts, please have a section for notes in your template or use (parenthesis). Don't put them in your IC post.
