Silence. Isn't that always how the story starts? Without the sensation of sound? At least thats how it always starts when you wake up in a place you've never been before. It impossible to know just how you got there or for what purpose you are there for. These were just a few of the questions that Simon had been asking himself as he gained consciousness. Before this moment he couldn't remember anything important. The only things he knew about himself were his first name and the fact that he had a younger brother. He knew just about every personality and trait detail that was connected to his younger brother, but he couldn't remember anything about their own history. Where had they come from? Why did he seem to be waking up in a place he had never been to? Or presumably never been to at the very least. Perhaps he had and he just couldn't remember. Was he in danger?
Moving slowly and carefully Simon opened his eyes and sat up from where he had been laying. He wasn't tied up or even being watched by anyone. The area around him was completely empty of people other than himself. Even his brother was no where to be seen. He lay in a clearing of deep blue colored grass. Blue grass? He was surrounded by trees of different colors and styles, Almost as if some of them were created through some kind of magical means. but all of them formed together to create the most beautiful forest he'd ever seen. And he truly wasn't that kind of a person. To be able to see the beauty in the environment around him. That was his brother.
About 5 yards away he noticed a tree that was larger then all the rest. For some reason he became drawn to this tree. It was as if the tree were trying to get his attention, trying to speak to him, tell him something important. But not in a hostile way. The air around him was calm, steady and relaxed. This made Simon nervous. How did he end up here in the first place? And where was his brother?
He glanced over at the tree once again.
